16/12/1982, 40 anni senza Anthony Bruce Colin Chapman. Dopo l'esclusione dalla gare della famosa Lotus 88 (quella col doppio telaio...) scrisse una lettera alla FIA, profetica a dir poco: "What used to be a competition between sportsmen has degenerated into a fight for control of F1. Since Team Lotus started competing 22 years ago, no one has won more races and championships than us. No one else has influenced the design of the cars as much as we have. Nevertheless, We are under unbearable pressure from Our adversaries who attack Us because, once again, We have taken a course which they will be forced to follow. If you don't clean up, F1 will get engulfed in a game of copying, negating, petty interpretations of imposed regulations." |
