De Silva al motor show di Bologna nel 2011 disse che Vw stava lavorando alacremente per sfornare un'avversaria per la Juke, adesso sono fortunati se riescono a lanciarla entro il 2018.
La versione di serie della T-Roc e' pronta come stile ma nel board di Vw si accumulano ritardi a causa degli enormi costi di produzione, Seat e Skoda invece hanno già presentato i business cases e pur utilizzando la stessa base tecnica non hanno fallito i loro obbiettivi di costo.
Sottolineo che Vw sta sprecando un'occasione fondamentale, case molto più deboli come Renault, PSA, Opel e FCA ottengono con questi modelli vendite e utili più che significativi, inoltre questa tipologia di veicoli si sta rivelando un vero e proprio trionfo in tutto il mondo.
I consumatori cinesi, indiani, brasiliani ( nonostante la crisi devastante), statunitensi ed europei stanno abbracciando questi b-suv in un modo inaspettato.
Nel caso di Vw vale il detto : " chi dorme non piglia pesci".

Ecco gli Sketches ufficiali della concept T Roc. Conferma il desiderio di conferire ai suv della marca tedesca uno stile più aggressivo anche se sono convinto che la versione di serie sarà banale. Di fatto prefigura la prossima Polo suv su pianale Mqb ( quindi con trazione integrale), sarà un anti Juke e Captur. Probabilmente la versione di serie sarà venduta in Europa, Cina e Russia mentre la taigun rimarrà confinata a Brasile e India.

Volkswagen sta ripercorrendo la stessa strada della presentazione della Tiguan: al salone di Ginevra del 2006 mostro' una concept molto audace (concept A) e l'anno dopo svelo' la Tiguan di serie che era infinitamente più banale.

Questa vettura, come altre vetture del gruppone (volcsvagen, audi, scoda, seat) ha il problema di quell'andamento stile Fiat 127 del posteriore che toglie tutta l'aggressività della linea. E' già così la A1, la Q3 e adesso stessa scelta estetica su questa. pessima

Nell'ambito del salone di Ginevra Heinz Jakob Neusser ha chiarito la strategia del marchio Vw per i prossimi suv della casa tedesca. Tiguan (450.000 unità all'anno) e Touareg (100.000 unità) sono stati ottimi successi ma non bastano per fronteggiare l'offerta mondiale di marchi come Ford, Toyota, Nissan e Hyundai. L'offerta si articolerà così: Nel 2015 uscirà la versione di serie della Taigun su pianale Up, sarà lunga meno di 4 metri e verrà proposta inizialmente in India e in Sud America. Lo sbarco in Europa è in forse. La nuova Tiguan arriverà nella prima metà del 2015, si ispirerà alla concept cross coupe e avrà 3 versioni: a passo corto, a passo lungo (per cina e Usa) e una versione coupè derivante da questa concept. Nel 2016 arriverà la versione di serie della concept crossblue, sarà sempre su pianale Mqb e sfiorerà i 5 mt, è destinata principalmente a Usa, Cina e Russia, forse avrà un futuro anche in Europa. Sicuramente l'offerta suv di Vw diventerà molto più competitiva ma sottolineo che la casa ha reagito con enorme ritardo rispetto ai principali concorrenti.

Le nuove foto spia di un prototipo della Volkswagen Tiguan, impegnato in dei test di affaticamento su strade di montagna, ci consentono di analizzare più a fondo le informazioni raccolte fino a oggi. Sin dalle prime immagini avevamo notato infatti carreggiate strette, passo leggermente modificato e un diverso tappo per il rifornimento, segnali che indicavano la presenza di una nuova piattaforma sotto le forme dell'attuale Tiguan. Nasconde la T-Roc. Le foto di oggi, che mostrano anche alcuni aggiornamenti alla plancia, al volante e al sistema multimediale, confermano questa tesi e ci portano a considerare questo muletto come anticipazione della T-Roc, inedita crossover compatta anticipata dalla concept di Ginevra che, grazie alla versatilità della piattaforma mqb, andrà a posizionarsi nel segmento di modelli di successo come Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 e Renault Captur. Per i suoi operai e' una manna dal cielo, la EOS non e' più in produzione e Sharan e Scirocco non garantiscono grandi numeri. Al contempo questa decisione e' un bello schiaffo all' impianto di Pamplona ( Spagna ) dove viene prodotta la polo. L'arrivo della polo suv su pianale Mqb e' previsto per il 2016.

Seat has used the unveiling of the new all-wheel-drive Leon X-perience at the Paris motor show to talk about its aspirations in the lucrative compact SUV market. As well as building on the success of its recently released ST model, the estate-shaped X-Perience – reminiscent Audi's Allroad models – is intended to gently move buyer perception of the brand upmarket, and soften the ground for the forthcoming crossover. Seat boss Jürgen Stackmann likened the new car’s direction as an equivalent to Cupra – except moving in the opposite direction, towards greater comfort levels and superior refinement. Although the forthcoming SUV will share much with the X-perience, not least its MQB platform and four-wheel-drive running gear, the brand’s chief executive officer was keen to distinguish between the two cars, suggesting the greater ride height, desirable 'command' drive position and yet-to-be-seen design will provide obvious distance. He also admitted the latest derivative of Leon was a prospect best suited to the climate and customer demands of northern Europe, whereas the crossover was a continent-wide volume-filler intended to see the manufacturer towards long sought-after sustainability. To that end, Seat’s first SUV will certainly not be its last. Stackmann confirmed the embryonic existence of another crossover, the character of which he lightheartedly likened to Prince Harry – if the forthcoming car were the slightly more mature and predictable Prince William. That would indicate, as suspected, a smaller model than the C-segment-sized car coming in 2016. Potentially, the second SUV could have a more forthright and spiky design than Seat has attempted with the earlier crossover. Much is still to be decided though; especially with the first SUV only now at its working prototype stage. Both Stackmann and Matthias Rabe – Seat’s research and development boss – admitted to driving the car already, and were predictably complimentary about its early progress. Both stopped short of confirming a Cupra version of the SUV, although Rabe confirmed that ‘sportier’ versions were a certainty, alongside the front-wheel-drive only variants needed to help keep economy and efficiency respectable. Less plausible is the mooted concept of a Leon Cupra R; thought to share the VW Golf R’s all-wheel-drive mechanicals. Despite conceding that the model had been trialled, Rabe suggested the idea had now been dropped. However, the Ibiza Cupra will likely be updated next year. Details are as-yet unspecified, but the intention is to help the model attain the higher level of esteem that has been afforded the more compelling Leon version since its launch. Al salone di Parigi Jürgen Stackmann, ceo di Seat, ha fatto capire che il marchio spagnolo potrebbe seguire Vw, Audi e Skoda nel segmmento dei B-suv. Per adesso la Q1 e´prevista per inizio 2016 (produzione ad Ingolstadt), la versione Vw dovrebbe arrivare a fine 2016 con produzione in Portogallo mentre la nuova Yeti uscira´dagli impianti cechi ad inizio 2017. Se approvata la versione Seat dovrebbe arrivare a fine 2017. Winterkorn ha ammesso che il gruppo si ritrova molto indietro nel settore dei suv e dei pick up rispetto a Toyota, aveva fatto la stessa confidenza nel 2007, non si e´dato proprio una mossa.

Molto probabilmente avrà una gemella Seat, in forse la versione Skoda che ha già in programma 2 suv. Avrà la trazione integrale, il pianale sarà l' MQB, il motore base sarà un 1.0 tsi 3 cilindri turbo da 95 e 110 cv.

Seat believes it can be the first of the Volkswagen Group brands to launch a proper Nissan Juke-rivalling small crossover, according to the brand’s boss. The Spanish car maker has already committed to building a new Nissan Qashqai rival at its Barcelona plant from next year. It has also shown the 20V20 concept, which hints at a larger SUV model to sit at the top of the line-up. However, Seat is also known to have put an Ibiza-based crossover through customer clinics, and chairman Jürgen Stackmann says such a car could beat Audi’s long-rumoured Q1 baby SUV and Volkswagen’s Polo-based Taigun to market. “Nobody has told us we can’t be the first to bring the small crossover to showrooms,” said Stackmann. “Our car is much better than when we showed it to some people last year. “We have an idea of when to bring this car, but we’re announcing it when everything is close, when the business case is sufficiently strong. And when the car itself is solid. “The sequence is clear. Number one is mid-size. Focus number two is smaller, because that’s where the swing is in customer demand. Number three is our vision, like 20V20. But it all comes in phases.” Stackmann also said the 20V20 is not yet confirmed for production. “We can build that car now — we have everything in our hands to do it — but the brand has to be strong enough to build that car and sell it in volumes and in revenues sufficient to make a good case. Si prima il b-suv che la nuova ibiza, se azzeccano queste auto, come già avviene nel seg.c con golf-a3-leon-octavia, per la concorrenza non rimarrà molto....per ora il seg B-C suv è l'unico senza IL gruppo e infatto è l'unico che più o meno le altre eu eu-usa vendono bene.

Sia perchè non si vende quel modello, sia perchè quel segmento "di moda" cannibalizza gli altri, quindi oltre a non vendere la polo SUV, si trovano anche a vendere meno polo normali...

Col b-suv qualche polo normale la venderanno, però con tutt'altri guadagni visti i prezzi pià alti del suv, alla fine sinceramente questo ritardo (quasi stile fca...) di vw in questo segmento non mi dispiace affatto

Seat's recently face-lifted Ibiza subcompact hatchback is based on the group's older PQ26 platform. Seat plans a family of different sized SUVs to profit from the popularity of such models, which earn higher margins than hatchbacks. The brand’s first SUV, a compact-sized model, will go on sale next year. A midsize SUV could go on sale by 2020 based on the the 20V20 concept unveiled at the Geneva auto show in March. Seat CEO Juergen Stackmann told Automotive News Europe in an interview published earlier this month that launching a small crossover was on his to-do list: "It's our next priority since crossovers are the trend," he said. Stackmann said the there is no final decision and no fixed timetable for the small SUV's launch but a company source said it could come within two years. "Next year the compact SUV hits markets and a year later you can expect to see the smaller SUV," the source said. The SUV would compete with the Renault Captur, the segment's top-seller in Europe, along with newly launched entries such as the Fiat 500X. IHS Automotive forecasts that Seat will sell 43,000 of the small SUV in 2018, its first full year of sales. Connectivity will likely be a key feature of the SUV. The face-lifted Ibiza hatchback is the brand's first model to offer the Seat ConnectApp that has voice-recognition software allowing a driver to respond to email and text messages through dictation. Seat is also the first VW brand to offer smartphone integration via either Apple Carplay, Android Auto or MirrorLink. Seat declined to comment on its future product strategy. Sales of small SUVs in Europe increased by 54 percent to 761,000 last year, according JATO Dynamics market researchers, making it the fastest-growing segment in terms of absolute volume. Seat, which positions itself as VW Group's sporty volume brand, is undergoing a revival after racking up more than 1.4 billion euros in losses in recent years. The brand swung to a small operating income of 33 million euros on revenue of 2.2 billion euros in the first three months, its first quarterly profit in seven years. The brand's turnaround has been helped by the success of the latest Leon compact. The Leon overtook the Ibiza to become the brand’s best-selling car last year with sales of 154,000 compared with the Ibiza's volume of 150,000. Production at the plant last year rose 13.5 percent last year to 442,677 units, the factory’s highest level in the past 12 years. Pare che Seat abbia approvato la b-suv per il 2017.

Seat boss Jurgen Stackmann believes the firm is on the cusp of being in a position to employ more extrovert designs on its vehicles — but he has warned his designers that they must never stray into creating ‘fashion’ vehicles. Seat will launch a Nissan Qashqai-sized SUV next year, followed by a Nissan Juke-sized SUV the year after and a seven-seat SUV by 2019. Stackmann believes that the small SUV in particular will give the firm licence to offer stronger style. “Our first job has been to establish the core factors of the brand: reliability, safety, good value. Without these things, a design-led approach would be just fluff,” he said. “But we are almost there, and the success of Leon shows buyers understand that. “With that quality established, the time is almost there to push design. Our design should be more overt than Volkswagen’s. Our designers have done a fantastic job to date - so much so that they now do work across the VW Group - and there’s scope to do more. “My only caution is that we must never stray into fashion, where design compromises functionality or creates a look that is only desirable for a short period of time.” Seguendo le orme di Vw e Skoda anche Seat punterebbe ad offrire 3 suv per i segmenti B-C-D.
