Non si può essere certi dei nuovi modelli Vw dato che ci saranno grossi tagli per far fronte alle spese legate ai richiami e alle richieste di risarcimento, però il management (l'ex) ha dato il via a 2 suv entrambi su pianale MQB, uno sui 4,25 mt e l'altro sui 4. Non è sicuro che il più piccolo arriverà anche in Europa. |

Secondo auto motor und sport Vw ha confermato i 2 B-suv, la Polo-suv per il 2017 e una Golf suv per il 2018/2019. La polo suv sarà lunga al massimo 4,10 mt, mentre la Golf suv misurerà 4,35 circa. |

A me la taigun come "copia" sandero in salsa vw mi piaceva molto sia fuori che come interni, chissà magari golf suv potrebbe essere qualcosa in chiave crossover magari in sostituzione della sportvan (che cmq non è poi malaccio), tagliano il "mitico" touareg? |

La terz generazione di Touareg ci sarà, la stanno già testando anche se potrebbe essere ritardata perché non raggiunge gli obbiettivi di redditività al contrario di Q7 e Cayenne. Vw e' colpevole di un ritardo mostruosi nei suv, e' sempre stata in ritardo. |

Volkswagen is set to preview its plans for a new entry-level SUV at the upcoming Geneva motor show in the form of a Polo-based concept car. Wolfsburg sources say the VW T-Cross will head into production in 2018 as a sub-£18,000 rival to the likes of the Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Juke. The new high-riding Volkswagen is described as a sister model to the earlier T-Roc – a larger VW Golf-based SUV concept revealed in 2014 and due to reach showrooms in five-door form in 2017. The T-Cross and T-Roc form part of a volume-segment SUV model strategy being fast-tracked by Volkswagen chairman Matthias Müller, according to a highly placed Volkswagen manager familiar with the company’s future model portfolio. “We will position production versions of the T-Cross and T-Roc underneath the Tiguan and Touareg in a part of the market that is currently experiencing large growth for SUV models, including Europe,” said the manager. Both of the new models are conceived around the German car maker’s highly flexible MQB platform and are planned to be offered with the choice of either petrol, diesel or plug-in petrol-electric hybrid drivetrains, together with either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. As with its larger sibling, the production version of the T-Cross is planned to receive a uniquely styled exterior in a move aimed at providing Volkswagen with far stronger representation than that provided by the Cross Polo, which features the same basic exterior as the standard five-door Polo hatchback, in the keenly fought compact SUV ranks. Styled under the guidance of Volkswagen brand design boss Klaus Bischoff, the T-Cross is expected to borrow elements from the T-Roc, including its full-width grille, side window graphic and distinctive wheel arches, in a bid to provide the two new SUV models with a common lineage in much the same way as the existing Polo and Golf hatchbacks. Despite the apparent visual commonality, though, Autocar understands the outer body of each of the new SUVs will use unique pressings unrelated to reach other. Further differentiation will be provided by their dimensions, with the T-Cross set to stretch to around 4000mm and the T-Roc running to 4200mm. Volkswagen’s original plans for an even smaller SUV based on the same underpinnings as the Up, as previewed by the Taigun concept at the 2012 Sao Paolo motor show, have been abandoned due, in part, to the shaky financial climate in key South American markets, including Brazil, where the 3800mm long five door was proposed to be produced. The reference to the letter “T” in their names suggest the T-Cross and T-Roc will continue the Volkswagen tradition in which each of its existing SUV models have received a model name beginning with the letter “T”, including the Tiguan and Touareg. Dato che Vw si è accorta che non ha sviluppato abbastanza suv, ha deciso di "vomitarli" tutti a Ginevra. Sono in ritardo mostruoso sui B-Suv e che fanno, ne sviluppano 2 in un colpo solo

Volkswagen brand is firming up its plans to join Europe's fast-growing subcompact SUV segment. VW Group's core marque will unveil a near-production concept for a rival to cars such as the Opel/Vauxhall Mokka and Renault Captur at the Geneva auto show next week. VW will also debut another concept in Geneva of a model for China, according to a company source, who declined to say what type of car it would be. VW released teaser images of the SUV concept to the media. The concept "can be seen as the beginning of a broad SUV offensive," VW said in a statement, which also said that the brand will unveil an updated version of its Up minicar at the show. VW said the concept will preview a "trendy, affordable SUV" but did not offer any more information ahead of the car's unveiling in Geneva. The concept will be positioned below the larger Tiguan compact SUV and seek to poach customers away from subcompact SUVs such as the Mokka, which will be shown with an extensive face-lift in Geneva. "Two vehicles new to the Volkswagen brand will celebrate their global debut in Geneva. One of them will be the [SUV] concept car," a VW spokeswoman said. Both are "close to series production models," she said. VW brand CEO Herbert Diess wants to have two SUVs positioned below and above the Tiguan, a company source told Automotive News Europe. The SUVs positioned above the Tiguan will be the current Touareg and an upcoming midsize SUV that will go into production at the automaker's U.S. plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the end of this year. The Geneva concept "will give a taste of the design of one of those smaller crossovers,” the source said. VW showed the T-Roc study for an SUV positioned below the Tiguan at the 2014 Geneva auto show. The three-door T-ROC may form the basis for another SUV that would be larger than the Geneva concept but smaller than the Tiguan, reports said. The second-eneration Tiguan, which is being rolled out across Europe, is larger than the current model, leaving room for two SUVs below it, former VW powertrain boss Heinz-Jakob Neusser told journalists at the Frankfurt show in September. VW's smaller Taigun concept unveiled at the 2012 Sao Paulo auto show in Brazil seemed destined to be built as a rugged small crossover for emerging markets. VW has confirmed that it scrapped plans to produce the car to focus on a model that could also be sold in Europe, now that the segment is booming. Sales of subcompact SUVs and crossovers increased by 36 percent to 1.04 million in Europe last year, according to data from JATO Dynamics. The Captur led the segment with a volume of 194,440, up 17 percent year-on-year. The Mokka was No. 2 with sales of 163,300, up 28 percent. A production version of the subcompact SUV concept to be shown in Geneva is unlikely to be sold in the U.S., where VW is counting on its new Chattanooga-built midsize crossover and long-wheelbase version of the Tiguan to boost sales. China model VW isn't commenting on the second world debut, but the source said it will preview a car destined for sale in China. VW is unveiling the concept in Geneva rather than at a China auto show because the brand wants to demonstrate that the car is "attractive enough to be successful in other markets" even though it is designed for Chinese buyers, the source said.
