Volkswagen will not replace the T-Roc Cabriolet when the brand launches the new version of the small SUV next year.
The removal of the convertible version of the T-Roc will leave the VW brand without a convertible model and further shrinks the availability of soft-tops in Europe.
The current T-Roc will be replaced next year by a new model using the MBQ Evo platform that also underpins the Golf's upcoming face-lift, as well as the new Passat and Tiguan.
The new T-Roc will be VW’s final combustion-engine variant, VW brand's development boss Kai Grunitz told journalists on the sidelines of the 2024 CES tech event in Las Vegas.

The T-Roc was the third best-selling car in Europe last year after 11 months with 191,015 registered, figures from market analyst Dataforce show.
The T-Roc Cabriolet had sales of 11,693 during the same period and was Europe's second best-selling convertible after BMW's Mini convertible.
"There is only a really small customer group for cabrios," Grunitz said.
The current T-Roc was launched in 2017 with the soft-top added in 2020.
Building the next-generation T-Roc on the MQB Evo platform could allow VW to add technology such as a plug-in hybrid drivetrain and adaptive suspension.
VW is also expected to replace physical controls for features such as heating with digital buttons on a large 12.9-inch touchscreen.
