La cosa stupenda è che non pochi forumisti sono fermamente convinti che Tavares sarà alle dipendenze di Elkann e che gli ingegneri italiani insegneranno ai francesi come si costruiscono le auto. È un pò come gli elettori di Trump, neanche la realtà li sclafisce. |

CNH Industrial is in talks with China’s FAW over the future of truckmaker Iveco, the Italian-American group said on Wednesdy after sources told Reuters it had revived previously aborted negotiations. Wine, took office this week - confirmed that the group is in preliminary discussions over its Iveco business with FAW Jiefang, declining to disclose further details. “No final agreement around the scope or nature of cooperation has been reached at this time,” the spokesman said. “Further information in line with statutory and regulatory requirements will be disclosed in due course.” Earlier on Wednesday sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters that talks had been revived after being put on hold last year. The state-owned Chinese company had made a preliminary offer that valued Iveco at a little more than 3 billion euros ($3.7 billion). CNH rebuffed the offer because it considered the valuation low, Reuters reported in September. Milan-listed shares in CNH extended gains after news of the revived talks, rising as much as 4.5% in morning trade. PLAN B A sale of Iveco would be an alternative to CNH’s 2019 plan to split the industrial equipment and automotive group in two and list its lower-margin truck and bus business along with its FPT engine division in an effort to boost asset values and streamline its businesses. The planned spin-off by the group controlled by Exor, the holding company of Italy’s Agnelli family, was initially targeted for early 2021 but has been delayed by the coronavirus crisis. The latest talks on Iveco’s future come as Changchun-based FAW, which makes heavy duty trucks under its Jiefang brand, looks to expand outside China in the next couple of years, said a source familiar with Jiefang’s thinking. FAW has made an improved takeover offer in the latest discussions and wants to acquire all of Iveco’s commercial vehicles business, including trucks and buses, as well as a minority stake in the FPT engine division, a second source said. An investment in Iveco will help FAW’s Jiefang brand to gain access to the international commercial vehicles market, the first source added. Iveco, the smallest of Europe’s traditional truckmakers, competes with the likes of Volkswagen, Daimler and Volvo Group. It makes vans in China with state-owned SAIC Motor. Separately, Iveco is in talks to jointly develop autonomous truck technologies with Chinese startup Plus, which has a tie-up with Jiefang, one of the sources said. PARIS -- Stellantis has appointed Pietro Gorlier, the former head of Fiat Chrysler's Europe business, as head of parts and services. Gorlier, 58, will report to Philippe de Rovira, chief affiliates officer at Stellantis. He will share responsibility with the group’s brands for growing the parts and services businesses, as well as delivery and customer support, Stellantis said in a news release on Monday. Gorlier started his automotive career at truck maker Iveco in 1991 and worked there for 15 years before moving to Fiat in 2006 as a vice president for network development. He worked at the CNH subsidiary from 2007 to 2009, when he became president and CEO of Mopar, a job he continued to hold until the creation of Stellantis on Jan. 16 after the merger of FCA and PSA Group. Gorlier became head of supplier Magneti Marelli in 2015, a job he held until 2018, when he was named chief operating officer for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region at FCA. Gorlier is among a number of former top FCA executives eligible to receive a one-time payout in the Stellantis merger, according to the Stellantis share prospectus. Secondo alcune voci la Tonale avrebbe una sorella (non gemella) a marchio Dodge da produrre in Messico. D’altronde Dodge è al collasso, o la salvano con un suv o muore. |

Sarebbe già qualcosa. L’anno scorso FCA ha cancellato la Caravan e la Journey. In gamma rimangono la Durango (10 anni d’ètà), Challnger (10 anni) e Challenger (12 anni). |

I numeri non sono incoraggianti, ormai il segmento B-suv ha quasi sorpassato il segmento B-hatchback, Stellantis ha già parecchi modelli e le vendite di Ibiza e Micra non forniscono speranze.

ROME -- If vehicle maker CNH Industrial decides to sell its Iveco truck unit to China's FAW the move would have to be approved first by the Italian government, the industry minister said on Thursday. CNH Industrial said recently that it could consider alternatives to a planned spin-off and separate listing of its truck and bus business and that it was in talks with FAW over the future of Iveco. In case of takeovers in key industries involving assets deemed of national interest, Rome can use its so-called "golden powers", allowing it to veto or impose strict conditions on such deals. Asked whether Rome could exercise such powers over a potential Iveco sale, Industry Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said the government would start an inquiry into the matter should the transaction materialize. "It's safe to say that this matter objectively falls into the golden power regulation, so it means we'll use it," he said during a press conference. CNH Industrial declined to comment. Gli Agnelli continuano a massimizzare il valore borsistico ma la logica industriale è sostanzialmente assente. Nel 2010 Daimler era vicina all’acquisizione di tutta Fiat industrial ma alla fine Marchionne chiese troppo. Chissà se la nuova Daimler trucks (da novembre indipendente da Mercedes benz) vorrà dare un’occhiata ad Iveco. |
