Questi giocano a complicarsi la vita. Per altro mettere VW a guida del mercato Nafta mi pare per altro una follia pura.

Infatti, Audi va molto bene, Vw sappiamo come va.

SEAT signs an agreement to team up with the joint venture between Volkswagen Group China and JAC
SEAT to become a shareholder of the company created by Volkswagen Group China and JAC and will be the Group’s lead brand in the joint venture
The Spanish carmaker will actively participate in the creation of an R&D centre in China focus on electric vehicles, connectivity and autonomous driving
The joint venture will launch a competitive BEV platform
The agreement also includes the introduction of the SEAT brand in China
SEAT is heading to China. Volkswagen Group China and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd (JAC), the partners in the JAC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. joint venture, and SEAT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding by way of which the Spanish company teams up with the joint venture and will be the Volkswagen Group’s lead brand in this project. The agreement was signed today by SEAT President Luca de Meo; Volkswagen Group China President Dr. Jochem Heizmann; and JAC President An Jin, in the presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang, at a ceremony held in Berlin, Germany.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding signals a turning point for SEAT. Since the creation of the joint venture in 2017, SEAT has contributed in the areas of design and R&D. Under the agreement, SEAT will become a shareholder of JAC Volkswagen, which will result in the introduction of the SEAT brand in the Chinese market targeting 2020-2021.

After signing the agreement, SEAT President Luca de Meo declared: “Our participation in this new phase of the joint venture is a milestone for SEAT. Today will be remembered in the history of the company, as we are entering a new era that will enable us to globalise the brand and boost the development of the electric vehicle. China offers many opportunities for SEAT and we are going to contribute mobility solutions to suit the needs of customers. This is also a chance for us to learn from the future trends that are developing in China.”

The memorandum of understanding also includes that SEAT, together with Volkswagen Group China and JAC, will establish an R&D centre in China to develop electric vehicles, connectivity and autonomous driving technologies, including relevant parts and components and core technologies, with operational use planned for 2021. In addition, the joint venture will launch a competitive BEV platform based.

Della serie ritorni inaspettati: Seat ritornerà a vendere auto in Cina a partire dal 2021 ma saranno esclusivamente a propulsione elettrica. Scelta alquanto curiosa.

The future of the New Volkswagen Beetle is uncertain, with several reports claiming that the automaker will either drop it completely or offer it in an altogether different guise.

Fueled by the second scenario, Kleber Silva has rendered it with new looks, a slightly longer wheelbase and a couple of extra doors at the rear.

The Bug also features a cleaner look overall, C-shaped LED DRLs sitting under the signature headlamps, and a new set of wheels with blue accents emphasizing its rumored zero-emission nature.

Adopting an electric powertrain means switching from the current platform to the new MEB, which will be shared with the brand’s upcoming ID models, including the similarly sized ID Hatch. This move won’t compromise the Beetle’s functionality and, thanks to clever packaging, it will also offer more legroom for passengers sitting at the rear. At the same time, the extra doors will facilitate easier ingress and egress.

Don’t get your hopes too high about such a Beetle, though, because even if it sounds very much doable, VW execs will apparently wait two to three years before deciding if it’s feasible or not.

So, even in the most optimistic scenario, an MEB-underpinned Bug, powered by an electric motor and possibly with rear-wheel drive just like the original model, won’t arrive sooner than 2021. And it will still remain a niche vehicle, aimed at those who favor the classic shape of the Beetle, wrapped up in a modern package.

Secondo alcune riviste britanniche e tedesche Vw starebbe pensando a dare nuova vita alla Beetle, questa volta elettrica e a 4 porte. O tempora o mores.
