INGOLSTADT, Germany -- Audi confirmed it will launch its Q4 in 2019 as the brand continues to expand in the hot-selling SUV/crossover market.

The coupe-styled SUV/crossover will challenge models such as the upcoming BMW X2 and the Range Rover Evoque.

"We offered a preview of this type of vehicle with the Audi TT offroad concept study three years ago," Audi CEO Rupert Stadler told reporters on Wednesday here during the automaker's annual earnings news conference.

The Q4 will be a niche model positioned between the Q3 and Q5 volume SUVs, whose volumes last year amounted to 232,045 and 278,968 vehicles, respectively.

It will take many design cues from the TT Offroad concept unveiled at the 2014 Beijing auto show. The concept combined the sportiness of a coupe with the lifestyle appeal and utility of an SUV.

Audi said it will "significantly rejuvenate" its model portfolio in the coming years with all-new models such as the Q4 and the Q8, the brand's flagship SUV, which will go on sale in 2018.

The automaker said it will expand the Q2, which launched last year, into new markets and launch an updated Q5 this year

New generations of its A8 flagship and A5 midsize sedans will go on sale this year and the second-generation A7 arrives next year.

Si era parlato di 90.000-100.000 unita´ come target, vedremo, io continuo a dire che e´orrida.

Per quanto riguarda la Q4 il design prendera´spunto dalla TT cross concept ma sono passati gia´3 anni e ne mancano ancora 2 al lancio, ci saranno modifiche pesanti.

Con la A2 non gli è andata molto bene, la Q3 al contrario ha sempre venduto in numeri elevati.

Q2 ha quasi più personalità delle più grandi Q3 eQ5, se ne cominciano a vedere parecchie.

FRANKFURT -- Audi outlined production plans for its upcoming Q8 and Q4 models as the Volkswagen Group premium brand accelerates its push into the booming SUV/crossover market.

The automaker will start production of the Q8, which will be its flagship, next year at VW Group's factory in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Q4 production will start in 2019 at Audi's factory in Gyor, Hungary.

The SUVs will increase Audi's competitiveness "in an extremely important segment," the automaker's production chief, Hubert Waltl, said in a statement on Tuesday.

Audi is expanding its SUV/crossover lineup to seven models by 2019 from four now and expects that sales of such models could account for up to half of its total global volume, up from a third now.

The coupe-styled Q8 will join Audi's Q7 at the top of the Q lineup. The Q7 is already built in Bratislava, alongside its platform siblings, the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg, according to Automotive News Europe's European assembly plant map. VW also builds the VW Up, Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo minicars at the factory.


Audi will launch its flagship SUV next year, which will be based on the Q8 Sport Concept, first shown at the Detroit auto show in January.

Audi currently produces Audi A3 and TT models in Gyor. Production of the Q3 is due to move to the plant from Spain next year.

Hanno un buon sistema statale, nonostante 50 anni di delirio comunista, lavorano bene e sono abbastanza seri. E le infrastrutture ungheresi sono ottime, per lo standard di quelle zone. Poi magari Orban ci ha messo del suo con qualche agevolazione fiscale, di cui non sono a conoscenza.

Ieri ero a visitare lo stabilimento Mercedes vicino a Budapest, dove producono le CLA per tutto il mondo più Classe A e B.
Ad oggi ci lavorano 4.000 persone, verrà ampliato e costruiranno un secondo stabilimento.

A Budapest è una vita che non ci vado, ma sotto il Balaton c'ero lo scorso giugno e lo scorso ottobre.

Piccolo excursus: il genere femminile, già di alto livello in passato, si è ulteriormente elevato. 15 anni fa c'erano le strabelle e le mediocri, poche vie di mezzo. Adesso ci sono stra belle e belle, perchè le mediocri hanno cominciato a curare look ed aspetto fisico. E poi si mangia bene. Insomma, non so se ci vivrei, ma qualche mese all'anno non mi peserebbe

Tornando in topic, c'è Audi, c'è Mb, dovrebbe esserci anche Suzuky; se tante case vanno li un motivo ci deve essere

Ps: in Ungheria dopo i 65 anni le persone viaggiano gratis su tutti i mezzi pubblici. Piccole cose che fanno capire l'attenzione per le persone, che da noi si sta perdendo

Ho dormito in centro (al ritz) e tutte queste super fighe anche no. Inizio a pensare che escano solo nel weekend. (poi il livello medio è molto alto.. ma sotto le mie aspettative).

Sui mezzi pubblici: si viaggerà pure gratis ma sono dei carri bestiame. (non dite come i nostri.. fidatevi).
Per Il resto il livello di povertà, soprattutto in campagna, è ancora molto alto.

Secondo me più che altro si è alzato moltissimo il livello italico da fine anni 90 a oggi....quindi non ci si stupisce più come 20 anni fa quando si va ad est...:-)

In campagna sono rom, ma a differenza degli altri rom, sono stanziali ;)

Non e´proprio un secondo stabilmento, amplieranno l´attuale, Mercedes vuole ottnere una buona flessibilita´produttiva per i 4 impianti del pianale MFA: Aguascalientes ( dal 2018, Kl. A berlina e GLB), Rastatt (kl. A, B e GLA), Kekschmet ( CLA berlina e Shooting brake, Kl B e forse kl. A berlina) e Pechino (GLA, GLB e Kl. A berlina).

Da quello che hanno detto ieri ci sarà sia ampliamento e successivo nuovo stabilimento.
(poi probabilmente è solo ampliamento e volevano fare gli sboroni )

si dovrebbe assestare sui 6mila pezzi mese in EU
è prevista altrove?

Ci credete che devo ancora vederne una? Di solito i nuovi modelli li vedo abbastanza in fretta, questa non pervenuta ( che non vuol dire che non venda, questo proprio non lo so)

Design work on the Audi Q4 has finished, ahead of the coupe-SUV’s reveal next year.

Audi exterior design boss Andreas Mindt said that the model was “a bit more than a coupe version of the Q3, to my eyes a lot more”. He confirmed the designers had finished the styling last year, and that it had one feature in particular to really set it apart from other Audis.


The car maker previously confirmed the Q4 would be produced in 2019; production will take place at Audi's plant in Győr, Hungary.

It'll be part of a growing line-up of style-led SUVs, spearheaded by the electric Q6 and plush Q8, and is confirmed by Audi to take a coupé-like profile, albeit on a high-riding SUV body.

The rakish five-seater has been conceived to compete against the upcoming BMW X2, Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

The Q4 will sit on the same MQB underpinnings as the second-generation Q3. It is scheduled to follow the Q6 and Q8 into showrooms in 2019 at a price expected to start about £28,000.

With the next generation of the Q3 growing in size in order to provide space in the range for the recently unveiled Q2, the Q4 looks set to trump its closest rivals on outright dimensions.

Audi insiders have revealed to Autocar that the Q4’s overall length will be at least 4500mm — about 110mm longer than today’s Q3. The Q3 is currently built in Seat's Martorell facility, but production will move to Győr in 2018.

Plans for the Q4 were originally revealed by Audi in the form of the TT Offroad concept, which first appeared at the Beijing motor show in 2014. As with that car, the design of the production Q4 is set to include a heavily curved roofline and a liftback-style tailgate.

Inside, the Q4 is set to benefit from a range of developments already under way at Audi and parent company Volkswagen for inclusion the next generation of MQB-based models.

These include full-HD instrument displays, gesture control functions, a 9.2in touchscreen navigation monitor, inductive smartphone charging and the latest connectivity features.

Among the powertrains earmarked for the Q4 is a new generation of four-cylinder petrol and diesel units that have a common 1.5-litre capacity.

They will be joined by updated versions of today’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, as well as an all-new 2.5-litre fivecylinder petrol unit with up to 400bhp in a range-topping RS Q4 model.

The new Q4 line-up will also feature a plug-in petrol-electric Q4 e-tron model with an electric-only range of up to 31 miles — as prescribed by China’s green vehicle regulations.


Si accettano scommesse sullo stile della prossima Q4, secondo alcuni sarà simile alla X4 (ergo schiacciata verso il basso), secondo altri sarà una Q8 in miniatura, secondo altri sarà la versione di serie della TT Offroad concept.
È ragionevole ritenere che gli interni saranno uguali a quelli della Q3.

Tra un po' il passaruota sarà più alto del tetto

Con le ruote da 29 pollici sono riusciti a eliminare i km di lamiera tra il passaruota e il finestrino

Altezza da terra della Grande Merda di Alastio, baricentro a un metro e settanta, larghezza 2.20 metri per non farla cappottare anche nel parcheggio e obbligo di patente C.
